The History of The Dodge Caravan
The Dodge Caravan made its debut back in the early 1980s via three trims. The minivan's base model came equipped with two rows of seats, dressed in cloth and vinyl upholstery. Four-cylinder engines were the norm, but Dodge upgraded to turbocharging in 1989 to boost the engine's power.
The Dodge Caravan's second-generation minivans were produced between 1991 to 1995, and it included integrated child seats. The brand's fifth-generation minivans were built between 2008 to 2020. More trims became available, and with that came more advanced features and technology, including Stow' N Go seating. Finer materials and updated components were also included in this package. Yet, there is nothing more critical to Dodge than the safety of its drivers and passengers. Over the years, Dodge has continued to evolve its safety practices and vices to build a minivan today that is not only elegant but also one of the safest in its' class.
